Requirements

Must-haves

10+ years of experience in software engineering
3+ years of experience in a leadership position
Experience with React Native, TypeScript, and AWS
Proven ability to lead, mentor, and develop engineering teams
Proven experience working in a startup environment
Strong organizational and project management skills
Strong communication skills in both spoken and written English
Bachelor's degree (or similar) in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field
Availability to go to the office in Parque 93 co-working, Bogota, 3x a week

What you will work on

As the local Engineering Manager in Bogota, you will have the unique opportunity to shape the engineering culture and processes within our growing team in Colombia and beyond. You will work closely with our product management and engineering teams to drive technical excellence, innovation, and team development.

Lead and Mentor: Manage and develop a team of engineers, conducting regular one-on-ones, performance reviews, and career development plans.
Hands-on Contribution: Regularly contribute to the codebase, ensuring a deep understanding of the technology.
Technical Oversight: Provide technical direction and ensure alignment with company goals, oversee architecture and code reviews.
Strategic Planning: Contribute to the company’s strategy, develop and execute the engineering roadmap, and identify technical risks.
Project Management: Collaborate with product managers to define project scopes, timelines, and deliverables, ensuring timely and high-quality project delivery.
Budget Management: Manage the engineering budget, including tools, infrastructure, and personnel resources.
Process Optimization: Implement and optimize development processes for efficient workflow and productivity.
Communication: Facilitate clear communication within the engineering team and other departments, reporting progress and challenges to executive leadership.
Local Office Development: Anchor the establishment of a local office in Bogota, lead local recruiting efforts, and develop our physical engineering presence in the city.
