History

Strider was founded by entrepreneurs Neal Kemp and Nicole Barra Conde in 2021. Neal and Nicole previously built out international HR and operations together at Y Combinator backed GovPredict where Neal was Co-founder & CTO and Nicole led People Ops. GovPredict was acquired by Capitol Canary in 2020, which gave them the opportunity to reflect of some of the biggest challenges in the tech industry they had encountered.

While working in the US tech industry, Neal and Nicole saw colleagues' companies struggling to find, hire, and retain developers in Latin America. Lack of a network, complexity, and unfamiliarity were all contributing factors to this struggle.

On the other hand, by virtue of living in Latin America, Neal and Nicole knew many developers in Latin America who, despite having exceptional technical skills, still had a hard time finding good remote opportunities with US companies. Navigating the remote job market is complex, and due to differences in the job market in their home country versus in the US, they had a hard time standing out.

After the successful exit, they saw an opportunity to help bridge this gap. They built Strider to help other US companies build high performing remote teams in Latin America and to help job seekers in Latin America get hired at US companies. Strider's hiring platform makes it easy for US companies to hire remote developers in Latin America through its extensive talent network and sourcing technology.
